On the morning of May 24, 1990, a pipe bomb exploded under the driver's
seat in Earth First! activist Judi Bari's car, crippling her horribly. Her
survival and return to Struggle against the death-wielding forces of Big
Timber, and the F.B.I. are the subjects of VIVA JUDI BARI!
a new video by K.Rudin from HAVC. In the years following that heinous and cowardly
act of assassination, Judi continued to organize in the forests and the
Federal courtrooms. VIVA JUDI BARI! gets right to the point of these
important issues and is a call to action in support of Judi's historic
lawsuit.
As Bari vs. the F.B.I. nears it's April 8, 2002 date with Destiny, this 26
minute feature is both a primer for the case, and an opportunity to see and
hear, indeed for many people, to meet, Judi Bari. She is here: articulate,
brilliant, funny, and relentless in her pursuit of justice: for the Earth
first!, and the Earth's inhabitants, including the loggers, and herself.
Since 1990, Judi Bari, and her legal team, uncovered much shocking
evidence revealing the FBI's deep & deliberate duplicity. Her Case is
increasingly relevant in the face of present day assaults upon Civil
Liberties & the Right to organize for Social Change.
This "Work in Progress" precedes a larger, in-depth documentary, the work
of 13+ years by veteran frontline EF! videographer K. Rudin.
