James Ficklin - Director, Producer, Editor, Cameraperson, photography
An independent video procucer, activist and filmmaker dedicated to documenting
radical social and environmental issues. Using mostly his own footage James
Ficklin has accomplished the following during the past few years: full
bio. James Ficklin has toured the country doing film screenings with
his new film "TREE-SIT The Art of Resistance". He also leds workshops
and has taught classes at the following:
2000 - Forest Activist Conference, Ft. Bragg CA, taught "media workshop"
2001 - Alternative Media Conference, SF State Univ. taught "Video Techniques
for Activism" class
2001 - Working Films, Wilmington North Carolina, taught "low-budget
production" class
2002 - Youth Activist Conference, Santa Rosa taught "Alternative Media
Production" class
2002 - Forest Skillshare, Humboldt County - taught video& media skills
for forest activists

Co-Produced "Who Bombed Judi Bari? - spoken word album/CD/tape, Luna
The Stafford Giant Tree-Sit, Fire In the Eyes, Timber GAp, Cry For the Forest,

trees, Tree-Sit the Art of Resisitance.
Member of HAVC and co-founded Earthfilms.org with J. Ficklin in 2000.

Kay has been documenting the Redwood forest issues since the late 80's,
A Public Access TV producer for over 15 years with MCET Ft Bragg, Produced
an accomplished artist & cartoonist who worked along side R. Crumb.
Co-founded Ecotopia News Service, original member of IWW Local #1. &
Mendocino Earth First! Produced "Enchanted Meadow - the Albion Uprising
of '92", "Headwaters '97 - Call to Action" , Viva Judi Bari
and dozens of other video TV shows for MCET.
