From the producers of "LUNA - The Stafford Giant Tree-Sit", comes "Fire In The Eyes", a powerful, unnerving look at Humboldt County's new policy of using pepper spray directly on the eyes of non-violent protesters. This 32 minute portrayal of the controversial police tactic, euphemistically called "pain compliance", shows the dark side of law & order. With the primordial redwood rain forest as it's backdrop, and in-your-face, direct actions of Earth First! as the catalyst, this video shows the increasing violence and police state mentality of Government and "Big Business".Though disturbing in subject matter, this movie is entirely watchable, and needs to be seen! The editing and the soundtrack make it a griping, intense experience just to watch. The Humboldt police and Congressman Frank Riggs make their feelings known, as do the survivors of this torture technique and their attorney Tony Serra. ncludes the story of David "Gypsy" Chain's tragic death in Grizzly Creek, and the police's violent response to a 3-week road blockade that followed. "Fire in the Eyes" asks, "What's your definition of torture?" and shows that what shocked the nation in the Fall of '97 has become accepted police policy for '98. “Some of us sense that America is growing into an authoritarian society," says producer James Ficklin. "The hierarchy of power that is institution-alized within large corporations, is essentially a dictatorship.”

Having 1000 videotapes of Fire in The Eyes on hand to send out to media, activists, lawyers and groups throughout the world has been a tremendous help to the case and the movement as a whole. Read a list of groups and organizations we were able to send the video to.
